A $2.3 million investment in the Port of Mackay is underway with local contractors EPOCA Constructions starting work on a major infrastructure upgrade. Treasurer Curtis Pit said the latest aspect of this program of works will deliver a $1.9 million upgrade of the port’s Harbour Road East intersection and construction of a new 1.9 hectare laydown area. “This is part of the Palaszczuk Government’s Accelerated Works Program and is delivering much-needed jobs and investment in Mackay and the local economy,” he said. “Infrastructure investments such as the Harbour Road East upgrade are about improving efficiency and attracting new customers to help support the economic development of Queensland and the Mackay region.”
